Oaklands takes its name from Halswell House, the property that once stood on the land, which an early owner renamed Oaklands after the oak trees lining its driveway. The subdivision that created the modern suburb only began around 1960, when a later owner, Karl Scott, carved up the property, and Oaklands School opened not long after to serve the new families moving in. Sandwiched neatly between Aidanfield and Halswell, Oaklands has stayed one of the more established, settled pockets of this fast growing part of Christchurch.

Our premium steaks are all aged at least two weeks to maximize flavour.
