BBQ Season! Here's 5 Ways to Wow at your next "Meating"

Summer is here and that means its time to put another snag ... and steak... and kebab... and ribs on the barbie. Here are our expert tips for your next "meat"ing to impress their... erm... socks off on the barbecue.

1. Up your burger game with bacon

Up your burger game with lashings of bacon. There is something about adding bacon to a burger that takes it from yum - to OH MY GOD YUM. Here is our sure-fire bacon cheeseburger recipe that impresses every time.

  1. Lettuce Bun or Bread Bun
  2. Beef Patty
  3. Cheese
  4. Bacon
  5. Mustard
  6. BBQ Sauce
  7. Lettuce
  8. Red Onion
  9. Tomato
  10. 2. Flinstone steak - Just Like Wilma use to make Fred

Our cave man style Flinstone steakson the bone (also known as a tomahawk steak) packs some serious flavour punch.

Brad the butchers cooking tip: We recommend getting a 400g Flinstone steak and cooking it Rare for maximum enjoyment... a meat pop after my own heart!

    3. Sizzle up a flavoured sausage

Flavoured sausages are a great way to mix it up on the barbie this summer. Spicy Cracked Pepper, Luxurious Tomato and Basil, Spicy Chorizo, Bratwurstor Traditional Cumberland. Just sizzle up some sausages, a little-caramelized onion, tomato sauce and mustard, cheese and serve in a slice of white bread or as a dog in a hot dog bun.

Butchers Tip: Add some sour kraut for a probiotic hit and that extra tang.

    4. Choose a Steak that has been Aged.

You can't go past prime quality beefthat has been carefully aged for at least 6 days to maximise tenderness and flavour. Make sure you get the grill nice and hot to sear in all the flavours and don't overcook it - No one wants a chewy steak! We recommend Flintstone, Ribeye and Fillet the perfect BBQ Steaks.

Brad the Butchers Tip: Make sure you rest the meat off the grill for 5 minutes to really lock in the juices and enjoy the rich flavour.

    5. Make it a Breakfast Barbie.

Get outside and enjoy that warm summer morning breeze as you whip up a breakfast barbie. Breakfast Sausages, Bacon, Tomato, Egg, Hashbrowns - and your good to go. Well, that is our five tips for wowing them on the BBQ this summer. Tell us, what is your go-to dish when your grilling for guests?
