Cottage pie is a great low cost comfort food you can serve for dinner any night of the week. The best thing is the left overs the next day. Here is quick video care of NZ Beef + Lamb.

 

Cottage pie ingredients - what you will need

Base:

  • 1kg of beef mince
  • 1 Onion
  • 2 Celery sticks
  • 150ml of red wine
  • 1 Tbsp spoon of tomato paste
  • 2 Pinches of thyme
  • 2 pinches of parsley
  • Salt & pepper to season
  • 1 can of tomatoes

Topping:

  • 1.2kgs of potato - mashed
  • 200ml Milk
  • 25g Butter
  • 1cup of cheese
  • 1 Tbsp of smoked paprika

Cook time: Bake for 30 minutes at 190 degrees.
